Lead Acrylic Shields and Storage Boxes
Lead Acrylic contains 30% lead by weight added as an organolead salt during the manufacturing process. This produces a lightly tinted lead acrylic copolymer with high optical transparency. The excellent clarity of this material allows unobstructed viewing yet provides effective radiation shielding.
Lead acrylic bench top shields and storage boxes described here provide shielding for low energy gamma emitters such as Iodine-125. Lead acrylic has a working temperature range of + 4°C to +48°C and should not be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. -
Lead sheets have a thick vinyl coating for easier and safer handling. Coating also prevents scratching of bench top and equipment. Entire sheet is flexible and can be easily formed around objects. Lead sheets are 2.2mm thick and provide effective shielding from 125I.
